Viewpoint QOL vs Interface: choose your inventory workflow
Choose QOL for cursor handling, hotbar cycling and quick loot actions. Choose Viewpoint Interface when you want a broader inventory, interaction and menu interface. They solve different tasks; neither is required just to switch the Viewpoint camera. Start with the smallest feature set that addresses your problem.

Match the add-on to the job
| Your task | Documented route | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Equip or read from loot, cycle hotbar and manage the cursor | QOL’s item actions and input helpers | QOL controls and options |
| Use a different inventory and broader interaction/menu layout | Viewpoint Interface | Interface modes and keys |
| Keep another inventory mod’s windows | Interface’s “Use the game’s inventory windows” option | Compare that inventory’s actions in a test world |
| Only switch first and third person | Base Viewpoint camera | O and Shift+O |
These are a comparison of the QOL and Interface authors’ current descriptions, not measured performance or a promise that every inventory mod works with either.
Try one workflow before combining them
- Confirm the core camera works and keep a copy of your current mod list and save.
- Name one need: quicker grabbing, retaining familiar inventory windows or a wider interface change.
- Add the corresponding companion with its requirements and review its intended Java approval.
- Use a safe test world: open a container, transfer a nonessential item, close the panel and recover camera control.
- Only add another companion after you can repeat that sequence and explain which extra task it serves.
A familiar screenshot may show several add-ons together. It is not enough to identify which one supplies the feature, and adding all of them makes a failed transfer harder to diagnose.
Retain or recover familiar windows
Interface’s author documents Use the game’s inventory windows for players using inventory mods. Its separate Allow legacy UI option restores vanilla windows without uninstalling the companion. Find these in the installed Interface options and compare one change at a time.
Before changing your setup, record the current mode and reproduction. If using the game’s inventory windows restores your workflow, report that comparison rather than claiming the other inventory mod is universally incompatible. If neither mode works, use dependency-aware conflict testing.
Check keys and context across the installed stack
K is a QOL loot-menu toggle and an Interface building key; V can be QOL’s loot destination or an ADS control. Movement can also change interaction inputs. Open each enabled companion’s own options and check the effective bindings instead of applying one video’s key list to all of them.
Rehearse opening inventory, transferring an item, returning to camera look, interacting and shoving before combat. Use the individual control guides for the exact action map. Interface remains actively revised; recent player comments identify interaction problems, not a verified universal fix or a benchmark for your stack.
