QOL controls for mouse, inventory, loot and hotbar
Use middle mouse to return to camera look, Shift + wheel to cycle the hotbar, V to choose a loot destination and K to toggle the loot menu. Configure the companion in Delete → QOL or Options → Mods → Project Viewpoint QOL.

Enable the companion, not just the camera
QOL needs ZombieBuddy and Project Viewpoint. Enable all three mods and complete the loader setup on your PC, including approval of QOL's Java file. The base camera working does not prove the companion loaded.
This guide follows the author page checked October 7, 2026. Older instructions using Alt for hotbar cycling may refer to earlier defaults. If you already customized keys, read the actual bindings in your QOL options rather than overwriting them blindly.
Keep the cursor and inventory working together
- Open the inventory or another supported interface; smart unlock makes the cursor available.
- Use middle mouse, or your configured lock key, to return to camera look while keeping inventory/container panels available.
- If locking closes panels you wanted to keep, inspect the optional Close windows when locking cursor setting.
- Close the interface and confirm you can move the camera again.
Check this sequence while safe, before fighting or looting under pressure. Cursor lock is different from the game's Lock Cursor to Window setting used in setup troubleshooting.
Current defaults for the core loot loop
| Input | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Shift + wheel | Cycle hotbar equipment; pauses FOV zoom while held. |
| Ctrl + wheel | Adjust FOV; wheel alone controls third-person camera distance. |
| G | Contextual item actions: equip, read or ingest. Available choices depend on the item. |
| V | Select inventory or an equipped bag as loot destination. |
| K | Hide/show crosshair loot menu; synced with Viewpoint's menu option. |
| ; (tap) | Show nearby containers together; tap again for aimed-container view. |
| ; (hold) | Store All, with author-described protected item categories. |
After pressing V, read the destination hint before grabbing items. With G, review any slot or portion chooser rather than expecting one fixed action for every item. For deliberate storage, distinguish tapping the nearby-container key from holding it.
Tune options and resolve a conflicting binding
The in-game QOL tab and the Mods options entry are synchronized according to the author. Hover an option for its description. Inspect the hotbar modifier, scroll direction, zoom and lock-window options together if one wheel gesture does two things.
- Write down the conflicting input and whether the camera or QOL feature is responding.
- Open the QOL tab and check both assigned actions.
- Change one binding, return to the game and repeat the same action.
- If you want defaults back, use the reset control exposed by your installed options UI; first note custom keys so you can restore them. A blanket configuration-folder deletion is not needed for one conflicting key.
The current author specifically uses Shift for hotbar cycling when Viewpoint Advanced Movement is present. Do not assume an old video shows your installed defaults.
If the feature still does not respond
Try opening the QOL options first. If the companion is absent, return to its mod enablement and Java approval. If options exist but an action does nothing, test the configured key against a suitable item/container and check the destination hint.
K changes the crosshair loot menu; it does not promise to solve every kind of stutter. If the problem is joining friends rather than a local key, continue to server lists and client checks. We have not run these controls on your save and do not guarantee all mod combinations.
