Set up True Weathers & Lighting without confusing its modules
Load True Weathers & Lighting after Viewpoint and approve its Java files. The visual mod and the optional Gameplay mod have different server needs: Gameplay requires ZombieBuddy on the server too. Use the visual settings to return to Viewpoint weather or reduce effects.

Pick visuals or changed gameplay
Workshop item 3813908957 contains ViewpointTrueWeathers and optional ViewpointTrueWeathersGameplay. Do not add both blindly to a live world.
The visual module changes weather presentation and lighting. Gameplay adds regional weather and sandbox-controlled effects, including lightning hazards. Read its author page and agree on the intended rules with friends before enabling it. A client's camera loader is not automatically a configured server runtime.
Find the responsible settings
Settings → Mods → True Weathers & Lighting controls weather effects and the return to Viewpoint's own weather. Lighting/shader controls such as interior brightness live in Viewpoint settings. Compare the same room and weather after each change.
The author lists half-resolution distant rain, snow and fog as a performance option. Lower effects gradually and note the result; no FPS improvement has been measured here. For global blur continue to the diagnostic checklist.
Check updates on a separate world
- Record which of the two modules is enabled.
- Confirm local visuals first, then check a second client's intended server setup.
- Test any Gameplay rules on a backed-up test world, including wetness and weather.
- If a problem starts after an update, reproduce with the visual-only stack and save the log.
Author compatibility claims and recent player reports are different evidence. A claim that every client sees synchronized weather does not prove your save, shader pack and server were tested together. See client/server responsibilities.
