Advanced Movement controls: lean, prone, jump and shove

Build 42.21 · ZombieBuddy v2.3.4 · Sources checked October 7, 2026

The short answer

Advanced Movement uses Q/E to lean, Left Alt to free look, Space to jump or vault and double-tap Shift to sprint. Hold Crouch for prone. It also relocates vanilla actions: check your bindings before combat, especially shove on Mouse 4 and interact on F.

Install this optional add-on after ZombieBuddy and Viewpoint and approve its intended Java file. Disable its DEV test build if using the regular release. Open Options → Mods → Viewpoint Advanced Movement for both the new actions and relocated vanilla keys.

  • Shout/emote moves to N; flashlight to Z.
  • Push-to-talk moves to Caps Lock; floor attack to Mouse 5.
  • 9 swaps the third-person shoulder.
  • Tap Crouch still crouches; Space while prone also gets you up.

If your mouse lacks side buttons, assign accessible alternatives and rehearse shove and floor attack in a safe test. An installation guide's old key list may predate these changes.

When a movement key does nothing

Mod keys pause while chatting, in menus, paused, in a vehicle or using Viewpoint's cursor mode. Return to camera control before checking the binding. Vehicle controls retain their normal context.

Delete → Movement+ contains immediate tuning. Test one movement at a time, then confirm the displaced vanilla action still works. Q/E or Space working is not evidence that every other add-on shares its bindings.

Prone, vaulting and multiplayer limits

Prone has stance and location restrictions; it is not a route to sprinting, shoving or melee while lying down. Jumping does not bypass blocked walls and closed windows; use the game's vault actions.

The author currently lists dedicated-server testing and first-local-player limits. Every player needs the add-on for its movement representation. Gamepad crouch/prone support does not establish full controller support: see the platform checklist.

For aiming controls continue to Recoil & ADS; for an E interaction conflict check Interface options.
