Build in first person with Construction 1P Viewpoint
With Construction 1P Viewpoint enabled, aim at the target and use F10 for its normal construction menu. Furniture uses F7 to pick up, F8 to place and F9 to rotate an existing piece. Confirm with left click or Enter; Esc cancels. This add-on keeps the game's tools, materials, skills and action checks.

Enable the intended construction companion
This guide follows item 3812312558, Mod ID Construction1PViewpoint, version 0.1.7. Its author requires Build 42.21, Viewpoint and ZombieBuddy 2.3.0 or newer. Enable the three items, restart and review this companion's own Java approval. A working camera alone does not show that its construction extension loaded.
Use a backed-up test world. Open Options → Mods → Construction 1P Viewpoint to check N, F7–F10 and targeting reach. The cover illustration's Q/F labels are not the documented default furniture keys.
Open a build action from the camera
- Enter the intended first- or third-person Viewpoint camera and aim at an accessible surface or object.
- Press F10 to open the normal target menu for construction or barricading.
- Choose the game's offered action and inspect its tool, material and skill requirements.
- Check the green/red geometric preview, confirm and let the native action finish.
- Verify the actual result before repeating. A preview is not permission to build through a blocked position.
Furniture and construction previews are geometric overlays. Their outlines can differ from a custom model pack's shape. The add-on does not remove native pickup breakage chances or action times.
Pick up, place or turn furniture
Use F7 for pickup, F8 for placement and F9 to rotate furniture already in the world. N selects the next furniture target. The configured Rotate Building binding, normally R, turns a placement preview and cycles objects in furniture pickup mode.
Confirm with left click or Enter and cancel with Esc. Compare the object actually placed, its orientation and your inventory after the action. If no valid action is offered, check native requirements and target selection before changing render settings.
Place a loose item and choose its surface
Use the inventory's Place Item action. Its textured preview needs Viewpoint's 3D ground items enabled and a model for that item. R rotates the preview; Shift+R reverses rotation. The configured Toggle Mode binding selects the surface, and Shift places all selected items.
Try one harmless item before a full selection. Missing textured geometry is different from an unavailable native action. Use model coverage and settings when placement works but the object remains flat.
Resolve a key conflict and know the tested boundary
Viewpoint Interface has a separate wheel-and-E placement workflow. Follow the Interface instructions when that is the add-on you enabled. F8 is also the default model toggle in Viewpoint Fences; inspect both installed bindings and reassign a conflict before testing construction.
The author targets local player 0 with keyboard and mouse. Controllers, split-screen and multiplayer integration remain unverified. Version 0.1.7 adjusts preview projection for Viewpoint 0.1.6; it is not a guarantee for every renderer or server.
The optional foraging display is documented as bottom-center discovery cards with right-click collection and wheel scrolling. Its author still lists in-game verification of that interface as pending, so it is not a demonstrated replacement for all foraging interfaces.
If the same action fails on a minimal test, report game/add-on versions, target object, effective key and preview versus actual result. Keep the real save unchanged while isolating the failure.
