Find console.txt and report a Build 42 Viewpoint error
On Windows, look in %USERPROFILE%\Zomboid\console.txt. Viewpoint writes lines starting with [Viewpoint]. Keep the failed run's complete log plus versions, GPU, preset and a short reproduction sequence; a red error counter alone does not identify the responsible mod.

Capture the run that actually failed
- Reproduce once on a separate test or backed-up world and note the time and action.
- Close the game, then copy console.txt to a dated folder before launching again.
- Keep logs.zip as well when requested by the original support channel.
- Record game build, loader version, enabled mods and the selected launch mode.
Windows support examples use the user's Zomboid folder, not the Steam install directory. If you use a non-default data directory, follow the actual launch configuration. This site does not accept uploads or read your machine's files.
Read the surrounding context
Search for [Viewpoint] and the timestamp of the failure. Include surrounding lines and the full original log when requested. A warning or exception named in the log can be a symptom of another failure; avoid assigning blame from one extracted line.
If the loader indicator is absent, use the loader flow. If only one model breaks use the object report. If a server reports a fingerprint failure, use the checksum baseline rather than a rendering preset.
Make the report answerable
State expected behavior, actual behavior, the shortest reproduction and whether a minimal test stack changes it. Viewpoint's author specifically requests console.txt, GPU and preset, with a screenshot if possible. Review logs for personal paths, server addresses or other sensitive information before public sharing; do not publish passwords or authentication material.
Base-game reports belong in the developer's appropriate support/bug channel; add-on errors belong with the responsible author. We do not claim a universal solution for “unexpected error occurred” or recommend erasing configuration to suppress it.
