Insert a VHS tape or battery through Viewpoint Interface
Open the TV or radio’s controls and click its empty disc/tape or battery slot. Interface’s author says the chooser uses items you are carrying. If a slot has no suitable item to offer, check your carried inventory before reinstalling the UI.

Check the device and companion first
This task concerns the optional Viewpoint Interface, not a VHS XP list or a TV schedule. Confirm the installed companion works with your core update and that its Java component loaded. Stand within reach and use the interaction mode configured in its options.
A TV with a media slot, a portable receiver and a device needing external power do not all use the same supplies. Follow the device’s displayed controls; the companion does not remove power or playback requirements.
Use the carried-item chooser
- Bring the intended tape/disc or battery into your carried inventory and open the matching device controls.
- Click the empty slot for that type of item. Read the chooser rather than selecting an unrelated inventory row.
- Choose the intended carried item, then inspect whether the slot shows it and the device has power.
- Use the device’s play, power or tuning control for the task. Inserting media does not by itself prove playback started.
The wheel changes an action instead of scrolling a window
The author says other mod/game windows free the cursor and that the wheel belongs to the window under a free cursor. Check the cursor mode and put the pointer over the actual device window. Do not assume a QOL or core cursor binding is the Interface binding in your configuration.
For weather, tune the receiver instead of searching for a tape
An emergency weather broadcast uses the world’s radio frequency and a powered receiver. Continue to find and monitor the emergency forecast. A VHS tape is not a substitute for tuning that station; this guide does not promise the same frequency across worlds.
Empty chooser or inactive controls
Record the device, item, whether it is carried, UI mode, installed versions and the exact click that fails. Compare the relevant legacy-window option in a safe test session and keep the save backup. We have not tested every modded device, fluid window or item container; report a repeatable case rather than treating one empty slot as a loader diagnosis.
